Mary Richards Esposito, born in Morristown on April 30, 1944 and died February 26, 2019 at age 74.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Whippany, New Jersey.

Mary was best known for her popular family farmstand at the corner of Whippany Road and Cedar Knolls Road. Richards Farm Stand sells flowers in the springtime, Jersey fresh-picked sweet corn and tomatoes during the summer, large varieties of apples in the fall, pumpkins for Halloween, and Christmas trees, wreaths, and grave blankets during the holiday season.

Mary was the nineth generation Granddaughter of John Ford, one of the original settlers of Whippany who built the first Iron Forge in northern New Jersey in 1715. She lived her entire life in the historic 1760 farmhouse built by her seventh-Great Grandfather Demas Ford, Grandson of original settler John Ford and cousin of Jacob Ford who built the Ford Mansion where General George Washington established the American Revolution headquarters during the winter of 1781.

Mary knew most everything about everybody in Whippany, especially those who frequented her popular farmstand. Mary also had a passion for cats and dogs and fostered service dogs for the Seeing Eye in Morristown.

Mary's cheerful disposition, knowledge of town news and gossip, and her generous nature will be missed.
